Help - Terminalmode 14.07.92
≤Getting the "EAK >"-prompt:≥
By using the terminalmode you can test, if your
box is correct connected to the PC.
After the input ≤<Enter>≥ (or ≤<Escape>≥
(or ≤<+> <+> <+>≥ and a short delay if the box is in
bridge mode) you have to get the ⌠EAK >⌡-prompt.
If you don't get this prompt, you have to check
the connection to the box and the settings for
port (COM1:, COM2:, LPT1: or LPT2:) and baudrate.
≤Download:≥
By pressing ⌠<F9>⌡ in terminal mode you can activate
a download. Data received from the port is written to
the ASCII textfile NET-CONT.DLD. If this file already
exists, you can choose if you want to overwrite it.
≤Hex-Download:≥
⌠<Alt>-<F9>⌡ activates (and stops) a hex-download.
(16 bytes for every line with ASCII codes).
The data is written to the textfile NET-CONT.HEX.
≤Timestamp:≥
You can toggle by ⌠<F8>⌡ the timestamp option.
The terminal creates for each received line a time
information, which is shown in a separate window.
If a download is active, than this time information
is written to the download file too.
≤Load a new firmwareversion:≥
If you have an EEPROM version of the Ethernet Box,
you can load a new firmwareversion by ⌠<F5>⌡.
The new verion must be in the file PGMEAK.HEX in
the actual directory and the PC has to be connected
≤serial≥ to the Ethernet Box.
Use ⌠<F10>⌡ to quit the terminalmode.
≤Complete command overview:≥
⌠<F1>⌡ - show help (this text)
⌠<Ctrl>-<F1>⌡ - save screen to file
⌠<Ctrl>-<F10>⌡ - show remaining main memory
⌠<F2>⌡ - toggle between 40 chars/line and
80 chars/line (default).
⌠<F3>⌡ - switch between normal and invers
video (useful for LCD displays)
⌠<F4>⌡ - show terminal textbuffer
⌠<F8>⌡ - toggle timestamp option
⌠<F9>⌡ - toggle normal text download
⌠<Alt>-<F9>⌡ - toggle hex-download
⌠<F10>⌡ - quit terminal mode
⌠<Alt>-<F2>⌡ - output F2h (242) to the port
⌠<Alt>-<F3>⌡ - output F3h (243) to the port
⌠<Alt>-<F4>⌡ - output F4h (244) to the port
⌠<Alt>-<F5>⌡ - output F5h (245) to the port
(useful, if the Ethernet Box is in
F3/F5-bridgemode)
⌠<Alt>-<W>⌡ - by 1/2sec delayed output of each
incomming character (for tests only)
Only if box is connected serial:
⌠<F5>⌡ - load a new Ethernet Box firmware
⌠<Alt>-<S>⌡ - show status of serial signals
DCD, DTR, RTS and CTS.
⌠<Alt>-<U>⌡ - activate DTR
⌠<Alt>-<D>⌡ - deactivate DTR.
≤Edit keys for the Ethernet Box:≥
⌠#027⌡ - previous character
⌠#026⌡ - next character
⌠<Home>⌡ - first character
⌠<End>⌡ - last character
⌠<Del>⌡ - delete actual character
⌠<Ctrl>-<X>⌡ - toggle between ASCII and hex
≤XON/XOFF:≥
⌠XON⌡/⌠XOFF⌡ characters are ≤NOT≥ interpreted in
terminal mode.
